Lyrics

01. Achilles

(part 1 : introduction)
Dry and dusty air, unwelcoming land
Souls and bodies everywhere, burning in the sand

Hair floating in the wind, eyes shining like the sun
The sound of pain is lingering, the battle’s only just begun

(part 2 : Achilles to Patroclus)
All alone, now that you have gone away
I thought you’d be here to stay
By my side along the way
My only friend, My only family
You meant everything to me
Now I’m down on my knees, I’ll stand by you …

(part 3 : Achilles to Hector)
This king is not mine! This war is not mine!
Every day and everywhere, I’ll show you how much I care

I’ll be chasing you, always searching for you
Behind your back without cease, you’ll never find no peace

It’s your destiny to be slain by me
Come and see me face to face, the final show must take place … now

This king is not mine! This war is not mine!
But what you have taken away from me is my whole reason to be

(part 4 : Achilles to Priam)
You came to see me face to face
You kiss my hands, you beg my mercy, plead for my compassion
For now your wish I will embrace
Yes I shall give you back your son
And I’ll stand with my devils surrounding my soul … oh Mother what have I done?

(part 5 : Achilles to Thetis)
You gave me all you had to give; you taught me how I had to live
I’ve never wondered how you feel with all the pain I’ve caused you

All I ever wanted to be was the strongest in history
My fame and oh my glory I owe it all to you

I lived my whole life just to fight, every day and every night
When things don’t seem to turn out right, I’d be the first one to get through

I give pain; I give fear
I give death; I give destruction yes I do;

This is the final show of what they’ll call a hero
I’ll cross the sacred river where someone’s expecting me too

Oh the mighty arms of Atlas hold the heavens from the earth
The mighty arms of Atlas hold the heavens … from the earth …

(part 6 : Crossing the river Styx)

02. The Quind

(*) quiet-mind

A Symphony that keeps running through my head
Only the day not the night because it is maybe a matter life and dead
Symphony to survive an illness to escape to break free
Avoid to sink in darkness, just trying to be a bird in the blue sky now

Fire and dread have already taken my mind
Layin’ down my brain I will run away to the quind
Ouh-ah to the quind
Ouh-ah to the quind

Melody that floats on a diamond necklace-ration is rising
Once upon a time a walrus was waving on the wind
Melody that keeps running through my head
Only the white not the black because it is maybe
The dream of the flying wing

Fire and dread have already taken my mind
Layin’ down my brain I will run away to the quind
Ouh-ah to the quind
Ouh-ah to the quind

Melody that floats on a diamond necklace-ration is rising
Once upon a time a walrus was waving on the wind
Melody that keeps running through my head
Only the white not the black because it is maybe
The dream of the flying wing

Fire and dread have already taken my mind
Layin’ down my brain I will run away to the quind
Ouh-ah to the quind
Ouh-ah to the quind

03. The Eyes of Age

I must admit that it took me some time to realise that the “old man” was actually the Duke of of Kirkcaldy.
I have to say that!
I wasn’t able to see this at a glance, can’t deny it;
but that’s what gave me the inspiration for “I could be anyone” and “I could love everyone”.
Although seeing him jumping on that big helter-skelter was a little bit disconcerting at the time,
he REALLY was a great man.
So I had to start some researches to get back in touch with him again,
and even though it seemed to me he’d got lost or drowned in his Firth of Fifth Forth,
I finally got back to him and met his nice brother John.
I let him tell me the story.
This is what it’s all about …

Walking out through the country, I was wandering alone
I met an old man from Kirkcaldy, who seemed to be quite well known
He was standing on the floor with his white hair so bright
And as I pushed on the door, he said “get into the light !”

I let him tell me a story; he put his hands over the eyes
About a long, long time journey across the land and the skies
A sudden voice in my head that will always remain
He got a glimpse and he said : “let’s join in this refrain”

Everybody’s getting finer, everything can go on better
All together we’ll be closer, everyone goes high
Anyone can start the fire, feeling passion and desire
Everybody’s getting better, and everyone can fly

I traveled the world, I could be anyone
But without going anywhere, I could love everyone
The people from the north and the people from the south
My brothers and my sisters all around

His look was full of emotion, and when it came about his wife
The room was caught in attention, for his fantasy life
Then Romeo and Juliet alike two lover birds
Kidding around and pirouettes gather round with these words

Everybody’s getting finer, everything can go on better
All together we’ll be closer, everyone goes high
Anyone can start the fire, feeling passion and desire
Everybody’s getting better, and everyone can fly

Everybody’s getting finer, everything can go on better
All together we’ll be closer, everyone goes high
Anyone can start the fire, jumping on the helter skelter
Everybody’s getting better, and everyone can fly

04. Alice's Eerie Dream

Features excerpts from Lewis Caroll’s nonsense poem “Jabberwocky”

(part 1: Searching for Alice)
You thought this land was just your dream
Looking beyond the wide horizon
You did not fear the wicked queen
Standing across the wild ocean
Since I’ve been losing you, my heart’s been so lonely
Since I’ve been losing you, my world’s been so sad

Instead of quenching my desire
‘been searching for you all my life
And if I got as mad as a hatter
T’was the only way I could survive
Since I’ve been losing you, my heart’s been so lonely
Since I’ve been losing you, my world’s been so drab

The daydreams of your childhood light
Have now all vanished in the wind
Along your journey through this dark night
You please the lords of the red pimp queen
Since I’ve been losing you, my heart’s been so lonely
Since I’ve been losing you, my world’s been so drab

(part 2: A mad tea party from 7 to 11)
Wake up, you sleepy head …
Wake up, you sleepy head …
It’s time … You’re running late …
Now’s the tea party
Keep your head on
Gotta wake up, gotta wake up, gotta wake up
It’s time for lunch

(part 3: Across the looking-glass)
‘Twas brillig, and the slithy toves
Did gyre and gimble in the wabe:
All mimsy were the borogoves,
Oh wake up, wake up sleepy head
Where’s the Frabjous day my dear?
The Jabberwock with eyes of flame
The vorpal sword has shed no tear
The land is dark but who’s to blame?
Since I’ve been losing you, my heart’s been so lonely
Since I’ve been losing you, my world’s been so drab

You found it hard to understand
What kept you looking for that crown?
But you got lost in Wonderland
And never will I let you down, ’cause
Since I’ve been losing you, my heart’s been so lonely
Since I’ve been losing you, my world’s been so drab

05. The Last Oddity

Inspired by Stanley Kubrick’s 2001: A Space Odyssey

(part 1: Lost in space)
Major Tom:
I saw the light shine on me
I felt the night fall on me

Ground Control:
Where are you going? We’re not detecting anything
We all know seeing is believing so where are you now?

Major Tom:
Oh where am I going? It feels like I’m flying and dreaming
I wonder how I am moving across this sky

Ground Control:
How are you feeling? Can you still hear what we are saying?
There’s something wrong you’re receding; Oh do you read us now?

Major Tom:
I feel like I’m drowning beyond the infinite evening
An endless sky’s surrounding dragging me away

(part 2: Jupiter and Beyond the Infinite)
Major Tom:
A tunnel of time, is dragging me away
Away from the sunshine, away from today
I don’t know where I’m heading, don’t know where I stay
Is it just the beginning, of a brand new day
But I’m feelin’ okay … I’m feelin’ okay …

Ground Control:
Where are you going?
How are you feeling?
What are you seeing?
How are you doing?

Major Tom:
I see the light, the night, the dark and the bright
The colors of Heaven, the black and the white
I feel cold as Hell and hot as a fire
I’m younger and older it makes me feel right

I’m feelin’ okay … I’m feelin’ okay …

Ground Control:
Where are you going?
How are you feeling?
What are you seeing?
How are you doing?

Major Tom:
I call to you across the sky …
